Understanding expiration dates for filings

Providing support for timely submissions and compliance

Published: April 15, 2025

Managing insurance filings can be a complex process, especially when it comes to keeping track of policy expiration dates. The Tyler Insurance Filings' expiration date feature makes it easier for filers to stay on top of upcoming renewals by allowing expiration dates to be entered for filings. This information can then be used to generate reports that show when a new filing might be needed. These features are designed to help filers stay ahead of renewals and avoid reporting delays. Adding expiration dates to filings and using the Policy Expiration Report helps everything stay on track.

Stay ahead of expiring filings with the policy expiration date feature

How it works
A graphic showing the process for tracking expiration dates: Enter policy expiration information, Generate a report for upcoming expirations, and decide when to file.
  1. Enter an expiration date — When creating and submitting a filing, expiration dates can be added to track when the current policy is set to expire. This helps to pinpoint exactly when action is needed.
  2. Generate reports for expiring filings — With the Policy Expiration Report feature, it is easy to view which filings are nearing expiration, allowing proactive action to be taken.
  3. Decide when to file — The filer must decide if a new filing is required. Tyler Insurance Filings does not automatically generate and submit cancellation notices or renewal filings.

The Policy Expiration Report makes it easy to track deadlines and avoid missed filings. Our previous newsletter article explains how to pull the report and understand the details it provides. Read about our Policy Expiration Report feature here.

Remember that the expiration date information is intended for internal reference and is not submitted to the state agencies. It is the responsibility of the filer to ensure all required filings are accurate, complete, and submitted on time and in compliance with government rules and regulations.

By staying organized with these features, filers can keep their processes streamlined and compliant. For assistance, the support team is always available to help. Email us at support@tylerinsurancefilings.com or call 703-841-6374.
